Lift Replacement Works for the Greenwich and Woolwich Foot Tunnels, Royal Borough of Greenwich, London

Acting as architects, lead consultants, and structural engineers for the design of replacement lifts for two foot tunnels constructed in 1903 and 1907, both of which are Grade Two Listed. Our work ranges from consulting with stakeholders, conservation officers, Historic England, and other local societies, to working in detail with the Borough’s own lift engineers.

The immediate task is to develop a design approach for both projects that addresses the heritage significance of both tunnels, while at the same time allows for the installation of four new lifts serving the urgent needs of communities on both sides of the River Thames.
