Facade Cleaning and Conservation - Phase Two
The National Gallery, Trafalgar Square, London
The National Gallery, Trafalgar Square, London
Part of the National Gallery's ongoing facade conservation project, leading up to the Bicentenary in 2024. Our role was
to act as design co-ordinators liaising between stone experts and contractor, and to act as structural engineer. Our work required assessment of a range of stone and brickwork cleaning methods, signing off on works quality, and
coordination of the contractor's temporary works access systems. We also were the liaison point with Westminster City Council for highways access agreements.

The project was completed during the summer and autumn of 2021, and required night time lifts of temporary works on to the main roof from Trafalgar Square
